860 Canal Street

Purchased in 1981, The 860 Canal Street building posed a real architectural challenge.  Neglected for many years by its previous owner, Nicholas J. Mercede saw the potential when he viewed its 3rd and 4th floor penthouse.  Deciding then to relocate the Frank Mercede & Sons offices to the two penthouse floors, a major renovation was under way.

Comprising over 3 acres with 81,000 sf of space, 860 Canal Street was the first Harbour Square building to be fully renovated, with many tenants still occupying space.  A new elevator was installed to serve all floors as well as new electrical, heating and air-conditioning, plumbing, were all brought up to date.

Its high 15’ ceilings are especially attractive to many flex users and its water views have made 860 Canal Street a desirable office location.
